Member Spotlight: Creative Olsen, the Video and Photo Studio Down the Hall

AUTHOR
Hunter Radenslaben

One of the better parts of running a workspace is paying attention to who works here. We get to watch businesses grow from across the hall. Today's spotlight is on Creative Olsen, the video production and commercial photography studio that works out of Suite 108 at Avant Spaces in Elkhorn.

Who they are

Creative Olsen is a Nebraska-based creative production studio that builds professional photography, videography, and content marketing for B2B brands. Nate Olsen, Partner and Creative Director, co-founded the studio in 2018. He's been working in professional creative production since 2013, and the studio has built a portfolio that punches well above the size of its team.

A few highlights from the work: Nate photographed March Madness in Omaha for Sports Illustrated, captured the College World Series for national wire services, and served as Assistant Director of Photography under Scott Bruhn at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Department, covering all 23 varsity programs. Creative Olsen has also produced content for Google's local STAR (Skilled Trades and Readiness) chapters across the United States, along with NDA work for senior business and political figures.

In 2025, they were named Best of Omaha by B2B Magazine for video production and commercial photography. They earned it.

What they shoot and who they shoot for

Brand films, commercial photography, corporate event coverage, drone work, headshots, and testimonial production. They work mostly with brands and agencies, and their client list reads like a who's-who of regional B2B: Google, Black Hills Energy, First National Bank of Omaha, AGCO, YMCA of Lincoln, Wynne Transport Service, Advanced Medical Imaging, Bauer Underground, and Sparks Barn, among others. As an Omaha video production studio, their reach runs across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and South Dakota, so on any given week the team is either editing in Suite 108 or driving to a shoot somewhere in the Midwest.

If you've ever wondered what it looks like when a high-end video crew is based out of a small office, the answer is: surprisingly tidy. Pelican cases stacked by the door, drone batteries charging on a bench, two monitors per desk during edit days. Most of the heavy gear lives in a van. The studio handles the brainwork.

What sets them apart

A lot of corporate work, and they're picky about which projects they take. Their approach is more specialist than generalist. They don't shoot weddings on Saturday and corporate videos on Tuesday. They focus on the kind of work brands and marketing teams actually need, like brand films that live on a homepage, event footage that gets cut into recap reels, and product photography that holds up in ad creatives.

Industries they already speak the language of include manufacturing, healthcare, finance, ag, and B2B services. If you're in one of those and you've ever sat through a kickoff call explaining your business from scratch to a video team, you'll appreciate how much faster that conversation goes with people who already know your world.

Nate's view on why this matters: most B2B businesses under-invest in their online image and video presence. The ones that commit to a real content strategy tend to consistently outperform the ones that settle for "good enough" smartphone content. The case is hard to argue against when you scroll through their portfolio.

Why they're a good fit for West Omaha

Avant Spaces is built for small teams and solo operators who want a real office without the overhead of a real lease. Creative Olsen fits that mold. They could rent a bigger space across town, but the math doesn't work out. Most of their day is either at a client site or in a focused edit. A private suite with fiber internet, a kitchen down the hall, and a conference room they can book for client meetings is more useful to them than 4,000 square feet of underused floor.

That's the same calculation a lot of our members make. You want a door that closes, a real address, and the option to grab a coffee with whoever else is around. The square footage you don't need is just rent you don't want to pay.

Their connection to the building (and the broader community)

Nate and his team have been at Avant for a while now, and they've become part of how the place feels day to day. When a new member tours the suites and asks "who else works here," Creative Olsen is one of the first names that comes up. They're easy to share a building with: heads down when they're on a deadline, friendly in the hallway the rest of the time.

Outside the office, Nate is a member and former board member of the Gretna Chamber of Commerce, and serves as Treasurer of the Antler View Office Owners Association. Community involvement that matches the way Avant tries to operate, too.
